The annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party hosted by Sir Elton John and David Furnish raises millions of dollars for the fight against HIV/AIDS. The event, which typically 900 people attend, draws some of Hollywood's biggest names including Katy Perry, Heidi Klum, Fran Drescher, Kim Kardashian, Miley Cyrus, Gwen Stefani and Neil Patrick Harris. All dance the night away at Elton's lavish fete but the focus isn't always on the awards actresses win or the gowns they wear. Elton John's party serves to raise funds for HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment and efforts to fighting the stigma associated with the disease. Guests arrive at his Academy Awards Viewing Party for cocktails followed by a gala dinner and viewing of the Academy Awards telecast. The dinner is followed by a lively auction with once-in-a-lifetime experiences to raise money for AIDS Research. Following the auction, various artists take the stage for an evening of dance and entertainment.
